    Tweed River Tips

I am thinking of taking the kids down to the Tweed River one day over the weekend to give their Mum a break and score some much needed brownie points.

I have never fished this area so any and all tips from where to put our 4.2mtr tinny in, to where to fish (targeting kid fish ie tings, flathead & bream) would be greatly appreciated.

Is the Tweed in NSW? and if it is I guess we need licenses in which case we may end up going to the Broadwater around Southport. Same thing here too. Never fished this area so any help anyone with local knowledge can give would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys

Yes, the Tweed falls under NSW. You would need a license but they aren't that expensive? The border runs along point danger so anything south is NSW. I only ever used to fish the tweed when I was growing up from the land.. Alot has changed down that way in resent years. good luck

Send me a pm with a few more details - where you are staying (what end of the river) how long you will be down and I'll give you plenty of hints for the kids of course

Also, you need to have proof of your licence, in hard copy form, not just on your M.V one, unless it is visible on same already.
