    Humminbird Purchase???

Thanks to all who responded to our earlier post regarding Humminbird Side Imageing and we're now going to buy a HB 798 and Navionics Gold Card.

We have a couple of quotes from US Dealers which are cheaper than anything here in OZ. However NO Warranty and $150 postage for a round trip to the US in case we have a problem is a little daunting.

So back to OZ for the time being, we've found a web site here which has the HB 798 for $2050.00 which is better than we have been quoted locally.

HOWEVER....having read the "Beattie Saga" on here, We're wary of this advertiser as there is no street address or contact phone number on the web site.
The website only gives a generic e-mail contact and a P.O. Box in Redland Bay.

Has anyone here dealt with them previously and if so what was your experience???

    The site is www.theboatshop.com.au

    Cheers
    Rick & Julie

    Re: Humminbird Purchase???

    Hi Rick & Julie,
I just followed your link and it came up with Pacific Marine website. If you go to the "Contact Us" tab at the bottom it gives you the address of the yard and phone numbers. try there. If they are linking to the "Boatshop" website then they should be able to vouch for them.
Let us know how you go, the prices are not too bad. be interesting to see what sort of service they offer. The Model listed is the "X" version so it should be covered by BLA for all warranties.
    Cheers Roo.

    Re: Humminbird Purchase???

Yeah....Hiya Roo......The plot is a little clearer now and it seems that the website I looked at was a direct link from a Google Search for Humminbird 798 and Australian Sites only.

It appears that the link from the Pacific Marine Centre, Loganholme is to their online Shop for their specials listing. Which brings up the site I saw as a direct link form the Google Search.

The interesting thing is that the "Shop" site says it's owned by a company called Online Marine and no mention of Pacific Marine Centre.

I'll give the Pacific Marine Centre a call and see what happens there.

That Boat Shop Price is $225.00 cheaper than the best ring around price that I have so far.......so it would be nice to think it was all genuine...

    Thanks Roo

    Hoo Roo
    Rick
