Went their for my honey moon last october, All the charters where way to overprised being $400 per person
with only odd fish being caught. Seen one boat one day come in with one dollie. Was there for a 9 days stayed at irriki island it was awesome, people were awesome food was awesome I reccomend their Pad Thia it was soooooooooo gooooooooood. All in all, a mate i meet went out on a charter for a day raised 1 Marlin but that was all for the day
. The charter guys i spoke too were a bit too cocky for my likeing
as they talk the talk but can't walk the walk, (present catch numbers showed this) tried asking a few questions but they disregarded me all together
, also deckie was a smart arse saying aust game fishing was shit compared to their, so i guess they never been to cairns and fished for large blacks and sails, and i think i caught more marlin in one day on the coast then i seen them take in 9 days chartering, was very pi**ed off with thier deckie thought it was quite sad actually. There was one charter boat in a berty that did well one day with 12 dollies and 3 Marlin one was quite big maybe 350lb and a couple of hoo for a 3 day trip. In my opinion Your better off spending your money on Rum and dry unless you come accross a decent skipper. i did hear however that i guy bye the name of Ben was the man too see but you must request for him to be on the boat, i did not get a hold of him as he was all booked. If you do go on one, do your reasearch as its not hard to show you pics of fish from trips done ages ago. Good luck.
Cheers
Matty
