There are a lot of boats mentioned here i didnt think of so i am really glad i didnt make this a poll. Its great to see the pics of some of the older boats,i didnt originally think of that but its been a top addition for those who have seen fit to do so.I have added pics of my boat back at the start.
Cheers Craig
Thanks for starting the post Craig - nice condition on the red and white machine mate
Here is a pic of mine and my mates. The Vag is on the left and my mates is a Carribean Reef Runner - 21 foot. Its a very solid off shore boat too. The 23 foot big brother to that was the Carribean Crusader.
Cheers
my dad has an early model seafarer victory with 140 evinrude. beautiful boat under power - will never forget the stunned look from a 23' cat as we passed it in 25 knot winds!
G'Day Catfishkid and Ozscott.
Top looking rigs you boys have.
Having some trouble sizing a prop for a similar set up and would love to know what props you guys are running?
Thanks HB
Broaden your horizons - go boating
My all time classic would be the Haines Hunter V17 L,R,C or the V19 R or C with loads of horsepower behind it.
I think they may still lexist in the Edencraft stable under a different guise now.

that's my scenario - bought a HH560 1989 model (built like a tank in VGC) with 2005 130YAM2st & new trailer - very cost effective then spent a few too many dollars on complete rewire, electronics, accessories, etc etc now have a very capable & reliable offshore rig for $30K+
think there are many classic offshore hulls circa 1985-1995 - Haines Hunter (naturally), Cruisecraft, Seafarer (some models better than others)
trick is to find one in good condition at right price & have it set up that way it works for you

Edencraft have recaptured and added to the traits of the original Haines 19 hull.
The new model 6.0m offshore has a more pronounced flared bow and the pod has been incorperated into the hull giving it a length of 6.2m from the "D" at the bow to the transom. With 225 geegees on the back she will do 40 knots

I'll vote for the Seafarer Vagabond or maybe the Victory.
Haines Boy are you looking at propping a single or twin motor setup?

What could go wrong.......................
G'day mate, yeah i realise that (saw one with a 225 Verado a while back). But mine (i think) is one of 2 that were built with a self-draining deck. If i put too much weight on the back of it the self-draining part will become self-filling Which is less than ideal. I have no problem with my 2-stroke. Its using pretty much the same amount of fuel to a bloke i knows' 21 formula with a 200hp 4-stroke (Strange i know, it suprised me) for the same speed (its within a couple of litres per hour). Oh and i couldnt go a Suzuki or Verado, i kinda work at a Yamaha dealer That might be frowned upon If/when i do decide to go 4-stroke i'll chuck a F-150 Yamaha on it for sure. We've had some great results with them, and they aint much different in top-end speed to the 200 carby.
Cheers, Ash
Now Noelm it may not be, perhaps Lindsay Fry or Boatboy 50 taught them how to drive it?

uripper - true about the mid 80s as well, but many of the true classics including the Haines Formula (based on the US ones) and Seafarer etc were from the 70s (mine included). I had a '72 V163 which was a nice bit of kit for its size to, but way to tender at rest and with way to little freeboard, particularly around the transom to be considered serious for offshore work.
