Hey FingerThis whole Fisher episode has a stink to it like a bucket of pippi's left in the sun for a week.
And in my books and one detail really sticks out.
That detail is the secrecy in which Fisher moved.
There is still no excuse for not ringing or contacting the people who were having their boats built or people with deposits paid.
There are a few accounts of that happening just in this forum.
Saying it was hard to find the clients contact details is bollocks in my books.
If they can be contacted for money they can be contacted for courtesy to say Fisher has moved and what the go is.
If the people concerned had time and the inclination to consider moving, looking for new premises, signing a lease and packing up and moving then they should have had an inkling that they should print out a list of clients and then contact clients whether they be past, present or, possibly, future to tell them what the go is.
Common courtesy.... that's all that is and if the business has not got that little bit of common courtesy then heaven help them.
Hell, a sign on the gate of the old premises would have been a start but was one there?? Not by the sounds of things.
How hard would it have been to put a notice here saying that the move was happening??
The excuse that the phones were down and internet access was down is crap IMO. Everyone has a phone and most internet access at home.
Mobile phones even work pretty good now-a-days and some have internet access on them.
Having clients left out of the loop when any money's, let alone huge amounts of the stuff, are at stake is a huge mistake.
When I had my accident the first thing that come to mind was to (a) get to a doctor and when the outlook wasn't very good plan (b) had to go into action...I got a good friend to contact all my clients to let them know what the go was. All that happened overnight and everyone knew exactly what was happening. And because of that I reckon if I started again tomorrow I'd be pretty well in the same spot as I was 12 years ago client wise.
Word of mouth will have tongues wagging all over the place (not just here) talking of what the go is with Fisher, considering the apparent disappearance that happened virtually overnight,....and the type of wagging will hurt Fisher.
IMO Col cannot cop the full brunt of the troubles himself. A board of directors was there apparently and they ALL should be copping flak.
I reckon Mark is going to be one of the lucky ones in all this saga.
He just lost his job.
All the best in finding a new one matey.
Sorry you feel that way, if you want to drop by next time your coming through I’m happy to sit down and enlighten you.
Recon I’m about done dealing with this here!
