Guided salmon fishing in Hobart
This is probably a late question, but my partner and I will be visiting Hobart for a few days from this Friday to next Tuesday. We are planning the itinerary and I would like to fit in a half day or full day charter fishing for Tassie Salmon, or Tunas. I had a quick browse on the Internet, and a quick search on the forum, and I thought this is the best place to ask around for recommendations
We are both amateurs at fishing who's only done a little bit of estuary fishing, and never been on a charter. Rather then going for the sports, we are more going for the experience so a charter service who provides good guidance. We are happy enough just to watch ... (okay and maybe a feel of the gears.. and a feed too.. just a little..)

Re: Guided salmon fishing in Hobart
Good day Yuffie,
Just a tad early for consistant blue fin/yellow fin tuna at the moment.
Some albies around though.
Best option down south (southern tas) for tunas would be Eaglehawk neck
try
personilised sea charters on 03062503370 or
doongara charters on 03 62503350
for atlantics try red tag trout tours on 0419348070 or
trout fishing safaris on 03 62613074
or pop down to huonville/geeveston,cygnet if you wish to have a crack yourself
About 45 min by road south of hobart. All the rivers down that way should have a few atlantics floating around.
Good luck with the fishing and most of all enjoy our beautiful state.
All the best
Cheers
Reidy

Re: Guided salmon fishing in Hobart
Thanks Reidy,
We are back from Hobart and had a good time, I miss all the cherries and berries, not to mention the fresh seafood
However, we did not end up doing any fishing, as the charters were either out our budget or fully booked. Oh well, we'll be more prepared next time
