    Travel Rods

    Hey Guys,

I know this has been covered before however, I need some advice in selecting a decent mulit-piece travel spin out fit.

I travel with work a far bit and would mind taking a compact rod with me. (not a good look turning up to a conference with a 7Ft rod tube)

I had a look a the Nitros, however didn't quite like them for the $$$ asking.

Does anyone have the Team Daiwa Advantage 3 rods?

    Any info would be great.

    Ben

Like all things, it depends where you go, what are you going to fish etc etc.
Along with a few others at work, I take a fold down Shimano. It extends to 7ft and with a packet of mixed plastics, has caught bream, flathead, whiting. a baby barra and nice murray cod.
The money I think is better spent on a small high quality reel, with good drag. Once you work out the drag, the rod is the spring for want of a better description

I have just bought the team daiwa advantage 3 12-25lb baitcaster. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but it seems great. I found it for $199 at tackle warehouse in camp hill compared to $290 down here on the coast at doug burts.

(I was originally considering the G loomis you had for sale Bennywise but needed the multipiece)

    No worries mate,

I had a look TDA3 and they were a very nice rod, however I want something that comes with a hard rod tube that could fit into my travel bag.

I just bought online a casting rod from Major Craft (SA KU RA- 4 piece DAY'S DC-644M). They have had great reviews and even with the low aus $, it still came up cheaper than the nitro's. They also have a spinner rod in 4pcs, which I am considering.
