    Moreton Bay Questions

    G'day guys and gals.

I myself have never really fished the bay and we will be fishing/camping around moreton island this wkd. I was wondering if you require a permit to camp on moreton and if so where do we obtain one from? Or if there is anywhere we can camp without one?

Also curious if anything has been on the chew lately. We'll be trying for macks and cobia and the likes (trolling, spinning and livebaiting). I know asking for GPS marks can make ppl touchy but some general marks for some spots would be much appreciated if possible.

    Cheers

    Re: Moreton Bay Questions

I was out near the sand hills last Thursday and saw plenty of bird action over the bait balls. Yes I even saw maks/tuna carving through them. No, I didn't catch anything. Some things don't change.
I suspect there are a few people who can help you out with good fishing spots. Are you land based or will you be taking a boat. I was about 5k west of the sandhills in 20 metres of water.
Also, do a search for GPS locations on google. There is a list going about. I printed it out.

We are going in my mates 685 Outsider. I had a read of your post the other day with regards to the bait balls. Unlucky you didn't hook up to anything. Matching the size of the bait with your slugs is the best advice i can give as i'm a beginner as well hehe. Maybe even try a couple different styles/colours. Cheers for your input mate :-)
