    Fishing Caloundra

    Gday All,

i am heading to Golden Beach for a couple of days this coming weekend with some mates. I havent been there before so i was wondering if anyone could give us some tips. I have a 450 hornet trophy so will be fishing estuary/pumicestone passage mainly.

How has it been fishing? any reports and what is working at the moment?

any help would be very much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Brendan

Mate I cannot help you with Caloundra but I can get you help. Search forums on 'Home' about Caloundra and you will find a list of reports etc.

Good luck and have some fun!

    Hey mate
I have not fished golden beach area for a while however whenever I do I have one go to spot for flathead and it always pays dividends.
There is from memory a set of sand banks on the bribie side of the river if you head pretty much straight out from the navel jetty boat ramp. There are two banks that run parallel to each other and I troll medium diving lures right on the edge of the bank which you will be able to see by looking at the water colouration. The depth is usually 6 or 7 feet however I get my best results fishing in 3-6 feet of water at a walking pace.

I use surecatch blazer 70's-90's in a brown colour or a cultiva medium diver in a brownish sort of colour also. However most brown coloured lures seem to work.
You should be able to pick these lures up from tackle world kawana waters on nicklin way for a reasonable price.
I hope this information works for you so good luck and leave some for my next trip to golden beach
