Don't get me wrong I drive a Mitso. Even a 10 year warranty is still going to see you sitting waiting for parts out west, don't see to many Tritons, Pajero's etc running around in central OZ. Thats the domain of the Cruiser and Patrols, so it would be a little wait to get moving again.

Just pour the can into the pot and bringing out the big spoon to give it a stir..

Because everyone is under the impression that you need a cruiser or patrol to venture out there! These cars are more than capable of going out there - they dont stock parts because no-one goes out there in these cars! Why spend the ex 15k on Nissan/Toyota?

Talking to an unhappy chappy in Warwick on Friday.
His 3 year old Paj. blew a top tank on the radiator towing the van up the big hill.
He was stuck in town until Wednesday to get a new tank or radiator.
Poor bugger also had the ultra-care but there were no hire cars available for a day or two.

I own a cruiser and a Patrol and I have had a Pajero at one stage. All comes down to what you want to use them for. I believe the Pajero is giving the Prado run for its money , and as for the cruiser I have one and will not buy another again if it is for serious offroad work. The mrs loves the cruiser for space, comfort and ease of driving. As for the Patrol is is not build as well as the cruiser but it definitly is a better offroad vehicle. This topic is a real can of worms and has so many options depending on use. Independant suspension I believe is an over engineered handbrake in all serious offroad 4x4's. I think Toyota's Hilux would be 4x4 of the year if it came out in an all coil option coupled with a big turbo diesel.
    Anyway my 5c
