Monduran map?

Gedday Ausfishers. I'm heading up to Monduran for my first attempt at catching a barra in the middle of january but have been told to take a spare prop!! I knew that there would be allot of timber but plan to be careful like you do in new places. Just wondering if anyone knows where to get a map of the lake with some indication of depths( I know it would vary with water levels) and any tips from you more experienced freshwater fisherman would be appreciated...
ps...the boat is a 17 foot plate runabout with 90 on the back. draws about 1 metre...

Foxies Barra havoc in Gin Gin has maps of Monduran..The depth of this lake changes every day due to water usage....At the moment they are pumping it out like there is no tomorrow...

Current dam level is 34%, and yes it was built for water storage for irrigation.

Lots of maps available but you can pick up the new one at Foxies at Gin Gin on the way through.

Also maps available on sweetwater site. As Awoonga says no good have depths marked when water levels change.

Good sounder, Gps and caution is what is required.

The map is good ....... but the reality is the trees that you could hit are everywhere ( once you move out of the main basin or off the main channel (river bed)...........
In essence you need a good sounder & watch the topography as you move around. ........ I'm assuming that you wont have an electric motor on such a big boat - so it would be crazy to venture into the timber under power.

Anyhow get the map ..... take your time & get to know the place before you start zooming around -

Thanks for the replies fella's. I will be treating this trip as recon and also plan to follow my mate around in his 14 foot quinny when we get around the timber. A spare prop is not an option( about $500 for s/s) so will definately be cautious. I will drop into Foxies and have a chat and spend a few bucks and hopefully get some local knowledge. Up there for 4 days/3nights and if I boat 1 decent fish I will be happy. Certainly don't expect miracles having read some reports on here from blokes who are obviously more experienced than me that have missed out but beginners luck might kick in. Looking forward to it, just have to get through 2 more weeks of work and I'm there!! Hoping I don't catch that disease you all talk about (IBD?) Is that waterborn or passed on by mossies?!?!? If I do happen to damage a prop maybe the missus will see the sense in having a second smaller boat for estuary/dam fishing!!

IBD is definitely carried by Lates Calcarifer ........ though to get it ..... you dont necessarily need to catch it - a strike will often be enough

A good option for you ..... if you want to cast - would be to fish the weed bed ( 1 in the main basin & the second on the way up river on the right) ....... drop an anchor and cast plastics or HBs ........ should be productive around sunrise or sunset
