    Mepps

I seem to have a lot of questions

I have a lot of Mepps and Aglia type spinners which I have collected over the years.....also a few Roosters

I have not heard much reference to them over here.....do people use them? Are they effective for bass and other freshwater fish?

    Any thoughts?

    Re: Mepps

They will work on Bass, and also on Trout in the southern states. The Mepps Minnow was a great Trout lure. Celtas were also quite productive on Bass. They are worth throwing around in the rivers.

Also work on sooties, silvers, spangled perch and jungle perch.

Have also caught big tilapias from NPD on celtas.

New Zealand trout (lakes & rivers) loved them on the South Island over Xmas & New Year !

Tarpon can't help themselves with a celta either.\

You can replace the back treble with a single hook, bait the hook with a small yabby or a shrimp. Works great on yellas.

    Thanks for the replies.

I suppose good lures are good lures wherever you are.

I will now use them with a bit more confidence and see what happens.
