    Jrc Ff30

    Hi all

I have the opportunity to buy this outfit from a mate who I know has only used it twice. He wantsa $250 for it. Would this be a good buy considering its age? At present I am running a Lowrance X125 and thought this might be a cheap way into a colour sounder. All comments appreciated

    Jase,

might be better to save your dough, the unit is pretty old, back to 98, Mate, whitworths have a northstar (navman) 438 for $399. not much more.. cant find much on the ff30, other than it is only 50khz.

    Regards
    HOnda

The JRC FF30 was a good unit in its day, it would be around 10y.o now as Honda says but it was 200kHz with dual beam angles (9 and 26 deg.). Used one for about 5 years, I would always buy a quality Japanese built unit over a navman, but thats just my preferance. The price is certainly good, be aware that this unit is a CRT display so will be affected by sunlight on the display.

    Cheers,
    J-Man
