Need help from yalta 555 owners please.

    Hi guys.

I'm looking at buying a Yalta 555 down the road from my place which has really caught my eye.
The problem is I've done a search on this hull and the usual ride-stability quality comes up but nothing much on performance figures.
    This hull has a 115 merc 2str.

Is this motor big enough for the hull.

What kind of km to the ltr would I expect from this motor.

The other thing I'd like to ask is.
When I tap underneath the hull in some areas it sounds solid as but in others very thin.
Is this common for this hull.

I really don't know much about these hulls so your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Gozz,

Do a search under yalta and you will find all
the info you want. It will save a lot of typing again.
Just briefly, 115 2/s no problems, no problems with
hull in all conditions and i went with mine 120ks off
gladstone and still had 30 lts fuel left with 4/s.
Fuel economy figures will differ with everyone depending
on how you drive the boat.
    Couldn't be happier.

As Gawby says the hull shouldn't be a problem but the Merc 115 are a 3 cyl in line which may not have as much punch as a V4 115. I have 115 V4 Jono on mine and it would be at the bottom limit IMHO. All in all a great boat. How much is he asking and what year is it??

Do a search on this site on the "555" and as Gawby says it is all there. I have had one for 2 years now are they are a good honest boat with no bad habits.

They have a 150L tank so even with a 2S the range will be good. 115Hp is the minimum for that hull but still fine. They are not thin or soft hulls; ask my drill bits!

Sorry last question as I couldn't find this in search but what kind of mileage can I expect from the merc as I do a bit of off shore fishing.
Is 1km per 1lt sound right or can I expect better.

Thanks heaps,no more questions I promise.

Yeah thats about right Gozz but can do a bit better in the bay on a flat day. The best of got out of mine was about 75km for 53litres down to Tipplers and back sitting on 4000-42000rpm.

    Hey Gozz

I've got a yalta 535 with 115 V4 Yam 2st, with a lowrance fuel flow fitted my best fuel economy is about 1.8 km per litre at 4600 and 28 knots - the 555 is i bit bigger and heavier, so The Lumps numbers sound about right.

    Cheers
