Fished the weir late this morning in search of a bream or two. Arrived to find the flow was pumping hard, so I started throwing plastics into the flow and jigging them as they were carried. I had a 3" minnow nailed but had forgot to set the drag and the smallish trevor had me round the pylons before I could say boo. My f%^wit moment for the day.
I had many more follows from the trevs but couldn't entice another strike except from the numerous moses perch hiding among the rocks. Eventually the heat got the better of me and I went home to sit under a fan. There was a distinct lack of herring around which was strange for the flow. A local seemed to think the rain had flushed them out of the channel and this was why the trevs were less aggressive than normal.
