Re: crabs and tings
Well done again Shane.
I was up there on Wednesday (very hot). No crabs (must be in the wrong area based on your catches), 1 bull shark, 1 large shovelnose (both released) and a couple of whiting. A lot of pots in the creeks and the main channel but found a few good whiting spots for the run in tide and saw some blokes catching good whiting up from Mission Point in very shallow water. Still trying to sort the whiting out around there. They seem to move around pretty quickly with the tide.
Cheers

Re: crabs and tings
Hi Thumbsuckers how far up from mission point, i sometimes fish just past where it narrows heading up stream inside the red marker where it widens out going into lime pocket , the tings are a pain up there they move with the tide and stay in very shallow water once the water gets more than a foot deep they are gone

Shane - yes - that's where I was fishing - just inside the red up from Mission and a bit further up as well. As you say, they move from there really quickly. As soon as the water floods over the sand they seem to move on and the sting rays move in. I braved the elements yesterday and caught 5 with best 35cm. They took yabbies and wouldn't look at a worm. Very hard going though. Caught several on those flats by wading. Virtually had to chase the fish across the flats to catch them. Also went up to Coochin but not much happening there - a few small ones at the mouth although I don't know the area that well. Tides were wrong I suspect. Will be staying closer to Donnybrook in future. Might see you up there some time. I am going up to Hervey Bay in a week and will be back at end of the month.
