    Moreton Bay 2nd Jan 09

thedeckie, his missus and young fella, myself and my daughter are taking the big rig for a run in Moreton Bay on the 2nd.

Leaving Raby Bay ramp about 730 and looking for spotties between peel and straddie and sth.

Lunch on the beach at Horseshoe Bay with a cold drink to wash it down. A swim is on the cards there as well.

I know there will be many others out there, but hey, the weather looks good.

We'll have the VHF on,, Call sign " ReBait. "

    see ya's out there.

should be a good day.... maybe a little over cast would be good to get away from the bite of the sun.

Will be out as well Phill. Searching for spotties. Will have the VHF on 21. Would love a 'heads-up' if you find a school or 2. "Wheeln' em In" or "DC".
    See you on the water!

The weather was pretty well as predicted.

Fished the area east of Goat for some squire, tarwhine and whiting. Moved about up to Lazzerette Gutter for a cod and parrot, and then back to Horseshoe Bay for lunch and a swim etc.

Over to Dunwich, but no ice cream van...... then back to the Platypus Wreck for a Moses. Moved once more to my Sweetie spot but only managed a Maori Cod.

Wind picked up at about 3pm so we headed back to Raby Bay.

With the cloud cover and a gentle breeze, it was a top day.

The kids out fished the adults, as usual.

The damage was done by live beach worms.

A big thanks to thedeckies wife, Liz , for the food and drinkies.

Also good to catch up to Marlin_Mike who was on duty at VMR455.

Certainly was a topday Phil. Weather held for most of the day.

Kids seemed excited and tired after what sounded like a top day day. They were wrapped at the fish they got......... I know all about breing outfished..I have a wife that does that to me regularly.....

    Yea,
i used to fish for them,a lot,Without doubt the best weather was he we had light to moderate S/E for a week b we fished. It brings the bait abd them right into the lee of the island. These constant northerlies push them way out into the by fracturing the bait and schools. there are still fish there just harder to find.
    chewy..
