crab pot setup

HI all,

Just purchased my first set of crab pots ( circular type ) and am wondering where exactly i should tie off the rope which holds the float ?

Tie the rope to the top metal ring. clove hitch and half hitch to lock it off.

You can use a bowline or splice it on if you wish as well

my pics are here showing the way I do it. Lots of trial and error have resulted in this method for me which I reckon is the ducks nuts now. Lots of initial setup, but then total ease from then on.

If you got your pots from BCF then the first thing you should do is go buy some decent rope for them. Dont use that spindly crap.
