    Mooloolaba Jack

    Hi,
Been doing a bit of bream and bass fishing lately so decided it was time to catch a jack. So decided to go to mooloolaba and on the third cast hooked up to this 50 ½ cm jack. Cast in between two pylons and was a very rough fight, but got it to the boat. Used 20lb finns and 30lb linesystem leader, lure was a 7" jerkshad. My friend also got busted on a pylon. First time fishing mooloolaba at night and plan on doing alot more these hols so hopefully can get few more jacks.
    Fish was released.

    Re: Mooloolaba Jack

It was about 8:15pm which was at the very start of the outgoing tide. Yer just casting in between the bridge pylons and jigging the lure back. There was a bit of wind around which made it a bit harder to fish as the wind was stronger than the tide.

    Re: Mooloolaba Jack

So were you casting down stream and gigging back against the current or rolling with the current?

    Re: Mooloolaba Jack

Against the current only because of the wind, normally i would rolling with the current, the wind and current was making it very hard to hold the electric and boat still.
