Marlin Near misses Goldie

Hi ALL

Launched Goldie early trolled down to Sullys on the 50m mark Nuthin
Pulled the lures and headed in closer to behind Jumpinpin put out an X RAP into the spread
5 km south of Jumpinpin X RAP goes off Nice Black starts tail walking and putting on a show
clear the spread and as we clear in the XRAP flies clear, we quickly set the spread again and this time 2 XRAPS are deployed, each rod with an XRAP gets smashed again and again, i see a Black come steaming into the spread from the right it misses the first XRAP spins around and has the second for lunch, nice run but drops it.
Must have had 6 more hits but no hook-ups
XRAPS SLIMIE COLOURED TROLLED AT 10-12KM/HR

did ya change the treble hooks to singles?

What size singles would you put on ??? I am going to give my x-raps a go on monday. Does it affect the hoohup rates on other fish?

hook up rate will be similar-tag/capture rate will still suck

Hi Mark,

Sounds like the Bull had a frustrating day. The right spot but couldnt make em stick. Did they totally ignore the skirts or did you not run any? Will be out through the Pin myself probably Tues can catch up if you want to come down and have another crack at em. Give us a call.

They would not look at anything else, it only seemed to be the XRAPS
i only put them into the spread for a bit of Bycatch later to keep myself and the crew interested. and then realised thats what they wanted.
I had 2 mates go out and catch them on XRAPS
One off the Goldie landed one on an XRAPand the other had the same experience as me with numerous hits and hook-ups off the back of Moreton, between 8 and 10am 2 adys before ???
