    Tangalooma

Well, what a wonderful few days spent fishing Tangalooma! Here is the report

Day 1 - Arrived at 12.30pm <> already pumped for the action!
Spent the day unpacking and getting the beaches sussed out. Found a spot, the end of the Jetty. Got my fishing gear at about 4:00pm and walked down to the Jetty hoping for some tailor or bream. Few casts later caught a pike measuring 43cm. Then for the next hour or so caught pike all around the 40cm mark with some reaching 45-50cm's. Then bang right near the pylons a bream which was 27cm's.

Day 2 - Woke up at 5.00am with my plastics rod waiting for more fish. In the morning session caught 10 pike all around the same size as day 1.
Afternoon session - Went down with plastics again. Saw some American lads (very good guys named Mike and Rus) fishing for live bait for their larger overheads (Mackeral hitting up everything) Got them a pike and they set it out under a cork, BANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG a huge Mac (over a metre) hits it with the pike being in the water for 2mins max. Darn he didn't run with it. For an hour we were waiting for another hit on a new live bait (a tailor). Nothing for the rest of the night.

Day 3 - Went down in the morning (5.00am again) with plastics and a slug, once again Mike and Rus were there. Jigged a gulp near a pylon. Then 5mins jigging zzzzzzzzzzzzz sounds the 4lb braid, Moses perch measuring 36cm's. Casting plastics out to a school of tailor (catching me 5 or so around the 25cm mark)
Evening session - Went down and saw the americans again, offering me some ANZAC biscuits I accepted (yummy).. Anyway back to fishing. We jigged our slugs near the pilons which ended up catching us 2 Moses perch around 30cm's and one lost fish which took my 4lb line for a run (hehehhehe). Spent the night in warm gear and eating ANZAC biscuits. What an awesome night - 3 guys fishing and eating biscuits, what could be better? Oh some coffee

    Day 4 - The leaving day ,
Early morning 5.00am saw the Macs hitting up masses of fish (small tailor). So I thought I would try and get 1 on 6lb leader and a flick bait in flash prawn (didn't have time to change to 30lb leader and a slug before the fish went). Threw the plastic out right in the middle of the school - guess what? I got 'hooked' onto one on 4lb line and 6lb leader. 10seconds and I had already lost alot of line, then, Ping the Mac beats me by biting throught the leader. $#%^ if only they were around the pier for 5mins I could have gotten the heavier leader on .
I stopped fishing for the day. Just watched the Mackeral which were about 100yards out . If only I had 5minutes!!!
Some funtime - Walked to the Wrecks to see Mike and Rus in the deep hole there -Mike had caught a 45cm Sweetlip.

    Thank-You Tom,
I'll be heading out there again soon - Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Photo's maybe added later if I find my phone camera cord thingy.

Lots and lots of them and he has a lot of photographic gear he's carrying around with him. He had one of his shots printed up and we've put a frame on it, looks spectacular.

Yea, he was trying to get a picture of a diving eagle. The eagle just flew away.
