Dunno, I'm not a vet!
Go buy another one mate, by the sounds of it, it's ro@ted!
Put it out of it's misery.
Pretty hard to treat sick or injured fish from my past experiences.
Sorry for the bad news.
hello this morning my archer fish had been attacked and was pretty much half dead and de-scaled being sucked up against the pump in the tank. i took him out and put it in the smaller tank and he floated around upside down etc but still had a bit of a kick.
I had to go to work and when i get home he is probably 15% alive(if that makes sense). he floats around but still has a small amount of life in him.
just wondering if he is stuffed or is there any hope he will pull through. he is bout 8-10cm

Well my "guess" is he'll pull through........I've had em on as livebait's before happily swimming around with an 8'0 hook right through them and they have kicked on for hour's.........(sorry but i have)
They are a fairly tuff little fish;
Dan,,
those fish have heaps of balls. he aint scared of trying to muscle in on a double size barra for food
Sorry for the double post - I am sorry to hear your fish is this sick. Hope he pulls round =[

if its fresh water put some cooking salt in the tank at about 20:1 (one table spoon for 20 litres of water) Don't use table salt as it has a chemical in it to stop it from clumping up. The salt helps stops infection on the areas where the scales are gone, but by the sound of your post it might be a bit to late . Good luck and let us know if he pulls through
little fella was dead this morning, i did put some extra aquarium salt in before in a hope it would do something
Poor little guy, I love archers!
For any other Diseases Wound Gashes etc in fish everyone should always up the dosage of salt in the tank AverageAquarium Salt Dosages of fish should be 1 Teaspoon per 40L for Tetras Goldfish Catfish, 1 Tablespoon per 40L all other types of fish.
If the fish is sick or has gashes, up the temp to about 30c for 3 days then add 1 teaspoon per 20L if they are Tetras Goldfish Catfish or 1 Tablespoon per 20L for all other fish.
As an add-on disease remover the products Melafix and Pimafix made by Science Products are the best on the market atm and treat pretty much every kind of disease except for HITHD (Hole In The Head Disease), These 2 chemicals are all natural.

gee man sound like you know your stuff. any ideas how to stop a silver grunter picking on another silver grunter slightly smaller
You cant really stop it from happening, you can try changing the tank stucture around like the ornaments, driftwood, plant etc. I have been through the same problem when i had 2 butlers grunter, the bigger one would chase the other one around biting it and stuff and i would change the decor round every 3 week or so, but then i got lazy and the bigger one killed him.
