Hi, posting this for a mate who has the above sounder.
He is wanting to know if he replaces the standard transom mount transducer (the one which came with the sounder) with say a Airmar P66 transducer, will he get better performance. The head unit on his Lowrance is rated to 500RMS and the Airmar transducer such as the one on my boat is for a Furono 620 which is rated to 600RMS.
Will his head unit be able to operate with this transducer and will he see any benefit. It doesn't have to be the Airmar transducer in particular, any brand of transom mount transducer is OK.
