    Garmin 300c - any good?

I am after a basic sounder for my 3.9m tinny.

I have been looking at the Garmin 300c which have a nice colour screen and are selling for about $329. Does anyone have any good or bad feedback on these? I am no where near an electronics guru so I need something nice and easy to use.

I toyed with the idea of getting a GPS/sounder combo but I'm really not sure i want to spend that much money ($600+) on one.

    Any advice would be great

    Thanks
    Matt

Hi Matt, I think they are a great unit but the screen size is too small IMO. The 400c is a bigger again but apart from that I think that the 300c would suit your tinnie nicely. They are also really easy to use

G'Day Matt.....I have a 300c...it is a great sounder with a Duel Frequency Transducer...it has some whistles and bells.....the only down side is the screen size but u do get use to it.....I have a tinnie also and have it setup close to be able to operate it......According to Garmin it was produced for use in Impoundments and Creeks, very nice Sounder, bought mine from the States when the dollars was worth 95c....Cheers Whitto
