    I hate those Melbourne players

Look what the storm did to my boat! On Sunday 16th of November, my house at Keperra got smashed by the wild storms that hammered brisbane's western suburbs. The boat got shifted a few metres in the yard, the outboard got pushed into some trees, the cover got ripped off and boat strewn with debris and branches. No real damage to the boat, just a big mess.
The house wasnt so lucky. Holes in the roof caused water leaking through the fittings in all rooms, and the ceilling fell in in our main bedroom. All the electrical wiring was water damaged and the place still has no electricity. The house was (still is) unliveable and we had to move out. It was a rental house not our own. We had to stay in a hotel foe a few weeks, but finally found a new place and moved in this week.

Anyways, we moved into a nice house at Griffin last weekend, which now has me living 5 minutes from Dohles Rocks boat ramp on the Pine River, with access to the northern bay and redcliffe area. Having never fished the northern bay, im after some info and tips and fishing this area.
Is it still worth chasing snapper on the redcliffe shallow reefs at this time of year ? I saw the report of one guy getting some nice sweeties this week, but I havnt really seen many reports from redcliffe area since winter. Are people still getting fish or has it been quiet ? Is there much palagic action close to redcliffe, or is it better to head over closer to moreton ?
While I dont expect it, if anyone would like to pass on some general starting marks for redcliffe reefs, it would be very appreciated. Feel free to pm me if you like. Alternatley if anyone that knows the area well, would like to come out with me for a fish one day and help show me around the area, that would also be great. I usually fish plastics, but am open to trying bait aswell.

Here's a few pics from the storm.

Hey Summer Trance!! Thats terrible about the storm damage mate!! What a relief it would have been not being your home!! Still I bet you had lots of your gear damaged by water leaking inside

Anyways that ramp is my local also, I get out the front of reddy when the weather lets my little 3.7mtr tinny out there. You will catch Snaps all year round out there on the right spots a the right time, it can be a bit hit and miss (maybe not for others that know it better).

Mac's and long tail get pretty close to the reddy headland this time of year, maybe more so mid January but you need to be out very early and not spook the schools at all, they tend to not stay up for long and disappear after 9am at the latest. I am pretty busy over the break but maybe early next year if your keen to head out I can show you 1 or 2 spots to work for snaps out there I mainly use plastics for them also

    cheers
    Brandon...
