Thread: Anyone got a Daiwa Heartland or Redback baitcaster?

Anyone got a Daiwa Heartland or Redback baitcaster?

Anyone tried the Heartland XA 153HSTA or Redback 153H baitcasters from Daiwa?

The Heartland seems to be identical to the Supertuned Team Daiwa Advantage, except for a (good) colour change and more corrosion resistant bearings. The Redback seems to be a cheaper version of the Heartland, but looks great.

I have a redback baitcaster, haven't had it long but so far seems fantastic, much better than the old abu's I used to have.

    Thanks for the feedback.

How is the casting distance and does it handle lighter lures well (say 5-6g)? Is it smooth on the retrieve?

Played with a Heartland in the local shop and the freespool seemed great.

I have only used heavier lures so far, casting distance is good, but I do have the mag brake turned up while I am still learning to use it. The retrieve is very smooth.

Thanks for your response. After playing with it again yesterday, I bought the Heartland. A bit wider than the other Daiwa baitcasters I own, but casts well and is very smooth. The Magforce Z braking is more finicky to use than the Magforce V for lighter lures, but is fine for heavier lures.

    Hi Struth,
How's The Heartland going? Looking at buying one the salesman tells me there a beefed up version of the HRF.

    Cheers Tod
