    Install of Lowrance 510c

    G'Day Crew,

Finally purchased a new Lowrance 510c. Dissapointed that it DOES NOT come with a transom cable cover, where the cable passes through the transom. My cheap Navman 4430 that came with my stacer has one! Unfortunately the cable thickness between the navman and lowrance will probably prevent using the existing cover (which is riveted to the transom).

Can you please post pictures of your install, primarily the way in which you passed the cable through your transom.

Also can anyone recommend a top rate installer in Sydney? Someone that does a neat, clean and careful install of fish finders?

    Really appreciate your time.

    Regards,

    Rob

    Darkhorse,

Agree with your observations regarding accessory hardware but that said, you can pick up a suitable fitting from Bias for a couple of bucks.

If the old hole is too small, just get a rotary burr in an electric drill and carefully increase the diameter of the existing hole your old tranducer cable went through, install the cable and fit the larger sized cover.

I'd recommend using a circle template or good rough hand drawing using a texta to mark the maximum area of the hole before you get after it but it's not a big job.

If you intend using an installer, they will have the parts and tools I am sure.

    Good luck,

    Steve
