    Hinze 29/11

With crap conditions for saltwater fishing, we thought we would refine our technique and go back to were it all began - chasin bass in the fresh!!!

Got to the ramp with a storm rolling over. Just as we unloaded the boat off the trailer, the storm started. Seeing Dan's face as he stood knee deep in water holding an Aluminium tinny as lighting belted across the sky was priceless. We quickly got into the boat and moved upstream.

Managed to get a small bass on the troll, then our first golden (38cm) working a rocky bottom. Not much action and with the water a little dirty we moved down to a previously productive area. Sure enough it wasn't long before we started landing fish. Managed to land a PB bass at around 40ish cm (forgot to measure before release).

As the sun disappeared, the surface action started, as well as a snake on the move as it swam towards then past our boat! Managed 2 fish on the surface with dozens of follows. Total was 8 bass and 1 golden.

As oddbudman says, it's a new lure type we are testing. Works a treat!!!!

Actually this is the first time i have edited any pic's. haha I think it's quite funny. lol.

The lures are nothing special and with a little research and discussion at your local tackle store would see you with the same lures.

I don't see any problem with blacking out lures. Keep em guessing a bit.
A lot of people ask me the excact locations that I fish in. I'll give them half of the info and let them work it out from there. Don't want to make it too easy for them he he he

    Good fishing boys

I think you did well on the fish....but better to remove the lure first, then take a photo if your trying to keep your valuable research a secret.....the black out makes it seem a bit pretentious
If its an available product then your not really testing anything. you'd presume someone already did that before marketing it.

Nice session there boys. I got out there the day before in my yak and managed 3 rat bass, a 34cm bass and a 63cm toga. My first one ever!!!! Heading back out there on Monday morning early hoping for some surface action and maybe another toga.

The lure that worked for me was a small Atomic Hardz shallow diver. Just went to Charltons and stocked up on some surface lures and some more shallow divers for my next session.

    Can't wait!!

    Re: Hinze 29/11

    Hi All,
I will spill some info, I was out there on Saturday and fished from 8am to 1.30pm roughly. We were using t/n 60 jackal's in ayu colour. We managed 50 bass and 1 yella. The technique was to cast up into the flood grass and retreive quik at first and then slow down. Size's ranged from 25cm to 46cm. It's been fishing like this for 6 or more weeks now and should stay like this for a while. As for location pick a bank and start casting.
    Cheers
    Jesper
