G/ day Couta i did the same as you except i went out at office hours (left seaway at 8.30am) tried everything (livies, trolled pillies, slugs) i even trolled a few 40 to 60 grm raiders with not even a touch. Lots of bait over and around the reef but i never seen a fish for the five hours i tried.I think all of the rain lately has cooled the temp down, best temp i found was 20.6. Top day out with bugger all others out today.
Check out the horrible conditions, and some of the bait around!
CHEERS RAY.![]()
Hey Guys
Much the same up off south straddie. Left early for Couran Cove. Some bait being harassed. Half a dozen guys trolling but we only found dolphins. No one got anything. The water was too cold and too brown so we went further to Sullies. Crossed colour line and trolled up the Pin dolphins. Cripes the old one really is cheeky.
Anyway a great morning boating rippin back by 8.30.
Fingers crossed
cheers

Thanks for the reports guys, I was thinking of heading out tomorrow morning in the hope of bagging out but I think I might can it now![]()
Cheers
Lucky it was a good day weather wise cause there was nothing happening around Hutchies as well. No surface activity at all. Flicked plastics all day for one 5kg snapper. Bloody lucky to get that.
Cheers
Well fellas you weren't on your own.
We hi the water at about 4-45am at currumbin and
trolled for 3 hours without a hit.
We tried lures, pillies and lives.
You would have noticed us trolling around (third go at this my key board
battery went flat then my comp crashed so on my deckies comp now)
we were in my 5m brooker plate white colour with 3 idiots thinking we were going to catch some spotties.
I said to the other 2 that i thought the water was to cold as we say a few
tailor and they like the colder water.
Conditions were perfect though.
A word of caution to anyone using the currumbin bar on low tide you have to hug the south bank going to the end of the creek and then cut across to the north wall and go around it and back to the beach and then follow the shore line until you get to the deeper water to go out but be carefull incase and waves stand up on you.
Coming back in was just done on the back of a swell with bugger all water under the boat.
If you don't know the bar be careful.

Yep I had a shocker also... Went to my usual live bait spots and even with a massive show off bait on the sounder, I could get one in the boat. Trolled between the coffe rock, the bommie and across the pinnacals..... Heaps off bait around, but no action.....
Was out at couran as well...didnt turn a reel. saw one good show of bait being harrassed and that was it. Pulled the pin early and went out to about the 28s for a couple of snapper, pearlies, and trag. Similar story out there too, found good ground but struggled to find any shows of fish.
Went out this morning to Palmy a few boats and yaks around, no spotties to be found/had.
Millions of bonito though.
20.5 degree temp avg
Iricangi,
were you in the yellow CC with the yammy on it..plety of yaks out

Ah cool, which way did you go back through the bar? Along the beach front, or to the north of the groyne a tiny bit.
We managed to glide over the sand bank 50metres north of the groyne, then had to turn around and head back out a bit to get around the groyne.
Your boat?
My boat is an old war horse, but does the job, can't wait for the macks to start coming throughMight be a bit more excited then i was this morning zooming around XD havnt fished in 3 months
Great site to see water temps :

You can clearly see the pocket of 20 degree water....looks like the weeks going to be northerlies, so water temps not likely to improve that much.
