sharking the pine

Went down for a 3 hour fish this afternoon, after about 6 miss hookups... not excatly sure why as of yet. then finally a solid hook up on the 50lb gear. a 20 minute fight till the line gave away.... ( too much reef fishing with it), set another bait on the 6500. and straight away got a 4 footer up, then set the 6kg setup aswell also to score a 3.5-4 foot, nice day on the water.. except for hitting a log and snappping the transducer totally off

wat boat u got mate? I was out in the Pine almost all day with my old man - caught nothing but 3 small bream, 1 whiting and BIG catties - 60cm+ got about 7 of them throughout the day

Plenty of reasonable bream in the Pine at the moment. I got 19 keepers and released another 8 unders or just legal on Friday - and not a single catty!

Hi Iceknight, Ive tried for a bully a few times in the pine using big strips of mullet (half a full fillet) and pillies on ganged hooks and steel trace, only ever seem to get cat fish or stingrays, although have lost a few big ones when I haven't had the trace, cut off. Where's the best place in there to get one and what on do you think?

hey iceknight was wondering pretty much the same as rk hill in where r u getting them not asking for spot x. iv been fishing up the river abit futher up near that big rock wall iv seem 1 or 2 jump an 1 cruising near the bank but have only had 1 hook up which i deem to be a shark but didnt set the hook iv been using mullet strip aswell. was thinking maybe pillies cuz of there stronger smell or big live mullet. been there night an day an got nothing no a few trips. im starten to get desperat any help would be great
