Here's a fish i caught ealier this year in Fog Bay in 6mtrs of water on a cut squid bait, guesstimate about 4.5 kg.I have caught larger specimens on hardbody's and storm sp's,my pb is around 9kg but i have seen photo's of fish caught elsewhere in the 12-14 kg range!

    G'day guys!

Great looking fish there, well done!
What sort of a light do you use for the squid (fluorescent, spotty)?

    Cheers!

gear, a squid light is at the top. I made 1 using some lead, croc clips,a master food jar (little jar sits better in the water) some poly (flotation) a blinker set out of a car & a 20 watt bulb. Hook your croc clips , run lead through the poly & through the top of jar hook wires to the blinker set put bulb in make it waterproof, easy.

they are like any other fish, eg... can be long & slender being less weight.
    or solid & a bit shorter. mine 98cm-11kg, 8kg-80cm, 91-93cm-7-9kg.
just depend's on how good they eat.

Wow great fish guys! Looks like a successful trip

Mozza I tussled a sandshark at a place south of Kosi bay for 4 hours a couple of years back before the knots parted.......they can pull something fierce! My old man reckoned it never knew it was hooked.....absolute beast of a fish.

Top report.........I am turning many shades of green!

I'm yet to try the whole 'night time' thing for Fingermark. I have always fished and caught them at first light. But I am keen to try this year. I might even give this Saturday night a go. What do you guys prefer in terms of tide?
