Borumba bashers, the weather is looking funky here in Hervey Bay. We are on evacuation alert for low lying areas and the forecast is that TC could hit Tuesday/Wedneday possible as a Category 3 cyclone.
There is goign to widespread flooding in the sunshine coast region with army being deployed to sandbag and evacuate in the event things get worse.
I will be very surprised if the yabba creek crossings are passable thursday/friday but lets hope so. Anyone in the know? We are lookign at a 3m storm surge here in Hervey Bay and massive amounts of rain forecasted.
If the weather continues to look funky I will be sitting this one out Lets hope TC Hamish fizzles and allows for a great weekend of fishing.
Roydsy
Not enough time in the day, to many spots to fish!
Hey Deano your the man, what happens is all hell breaks loose Borumba is at 100% so it wont take much to send he over the top, the second way in is dirt and will be hard to pass through. So in saying this whats a good plan for attack if it should flood up there.
well bash crew, looks like were gonna get bashed by hamish (mabe)...with alot of fishos travellin from afar, think we will look closer at the situation by midweek and make a decision.....if the spinner does decide to come in, and the weekend is lookin disasterous, well then yes we may have to give in to him, and plan another weekend...we will suck it and see for now, ...any thoughts.????
God put me on earth to accomplisha certain number of things, right now i am so far behindi will never die.
well i just had a look at the radar and man there is some rain on its way and if it does come we wont be able to cross he bridges on the way through so yeah for sure look at it mid week and make a call but its not looking good that is for certain hey if it gets to mondy it would be a awsome sight to see her full that is for sure plus you coolum boys would have to go the long way to get out of your place as all the roads across to the highway will get cut for sure but we may be lucky
Listen u blokes, just stop this crazy talk.
To me big H is veering more easterly as of this morning and forecast has it downgraded to a C2 by Wednesday.

Fingers and toes crossed here, that's for sure! Hopefully it will just head out to sea and fizzle out.
I don't mind having a wet bum as long as there's a hot shower to stop the shivering!
She b right Tony, only issue we may have by the sounds of it is getting access to the joint if the is to much rain.
Team "Don't Ask"
look at the latest map shows it is going in a circle off harvey bay in the next day or so and downgrading in size to a 2 so may end up a rain depression or go out to sea

I saw that Shane...there must be a marine roundabout out there somewhere. With any luck it gets confused and keeps heading out to sea.
By the sound of you guys and girls are in for one hell of a weekend, whether its fine, fish firing, raining, windy, snowing, or a heatwave. Have fun!

Leigh.
If it heads out to sea like they reckon....all good.
If it crosses and becomes a rain mess....well, it will flood the roads in, probably shut down the fishing anyway and create a pretty ordinary weekend.
I think, and just my idea, plan B (after deciding midweek, good idea) could be a trip to Boondoomba. Still has plenty of bass, nice camping on the water, inland so it may not get the massive rain. And its still pretty much the same travel time for most, except the crew from the sunny coast who might have a bit further to travel.....Just another option if all goes bad......Monduran might even be an option if the cyclone bypasses here.
Steve
I was listening to the expert weather man last week when he told me this....
DONT WORRY
the cyclone is above CAIRNS!!!! There has never been any cyclone that crosses at Cairns that has any effect on Gin Gin (Monduran) its about 1500km away!!!!......you will be right. If the cyclone formed and crossed the coast at gladstone, or bundaberg then I would be thinking about it.
You will be OK mate...
Its funny, I was at foxies this morning and he had a call from a victorian worried about the same thing!!
Steve
Edit: The NQ boys on this site reckon it may?? Cross between townsville and Mackay.......still wont affect Monduran!!
That's one of the reasons i always watch Talitha Cummings for my weather info...
JIM
What would Macgyver do . . . . . ?
