Well lets see. As some of you know i only picked up my boat the other day and got a brooker bay raider 500 2008 model, decided to go to the spit today for my first drive, got the boat in ok, and I know everyone says "check the bung" and thats all I was thinking about but I didnt do it, lol, so yes the boat went in without the bung, but quickly put it in and let the bilge pump do its job, went for a cruise near clear island waters, threw the line in and only caught 2 undersized bream which had to be thrown away anyway, Was quite windy and reported to VMW that I was going to go offshore for around 30 mins to watch a friend on a jetski do a few wave jumps, and I know it was kinda stupid going offshore for the first time on the boat, but I had alot of confidence and I succeeded. came back in 30 mins later and my friend caught a stingray at wakebreak so we had to cut the line, and I must say that there was an unbelieveable amount of stingrays at wavebreak. We decided to end the day there so we packed up and left, but overall it was pretty windy but I thought if i did alright today i should be fine most other days . Hope you enjoy the story, hahaha
I forgot the bung the first time I took out my brand new brooker too ,
took ages to bail it all out, no pump at the time, wasn't the last time either...
I have to remove the lights and the outboard bracket before launching, so it'll be a rare day where I don't pay attention to the bungs before launching.
