Been chasing a big jew for a lot of years now and a trip down the coast last night finally paid off. Got to my spot about 8:00pm and threw out a big bait, Not a touch for half an hour or so , so tied on a big gold bomber for a flick and on the fifth cast got clobbered at my feet at the base of the rocks. Screaming powerful first run of about 150-200m and i was getting a bit worried . She finally slowed and was able to get some line back.
2 more shorter runs and 20-30mins later this bohemoth lay spent below me.
Now it was a matter of how to land it by myself off the rocks at night. Made my way down to the water where the size of it really sunk in and had me shakin. Eased my hand into its gill cover and hauled the giant up the rocks. Used 30lb braid 50lb leader . Was absolutely spent by the time i got it back to the ute.
