14th pine crab an flick

hey all went for a quick fish in the pine yesterday after putting it off for a week cause of the weather even though it rained yesterday i waited for it to stop then straight int he car an off to the water i was at the point where i didnt care if i caught any thin gi just wanted to go for a fish. got there around 11:30 abit later then i would have liked put the pots in the water an headed up to the spot i wanted to fish. i had 1 rod with a plastic on an 1 with a prawn star i liek to swap rpds every now a then so the fish arnt seeing the same thing over an over. 4th cast i got a half solid hit but didnt hook up thyen about 10mins later boated a nice little moses that hit liek he thought he was 5 times bigger then he was about 20mins after i got slammed by some thing that stripped about 30m's of line an then busted me off taking my last prawn star in my tackle box with it so now i have to stock up again. not sure what it was it was fast an strong an seem to be throwin the head as it ran maybe a good trev but all i know was i wasnt stoping it in a hurry on 6lb. after that the fishing was very slow decided to move down to the bridge to try get some bream didnt even geta touch there on the placcies the prawn star seemed to be the pick for the day till it was stolen but thats fishing right!! started to heat up an i forgot the sunscreen an i was starting to glow red so i called it quits an got the pots an picked up 1 buck which was the only crab i caught so atleast i caught my self lunch. it was good to be out on the water even if i didnt come home with a bag full of fish.

Mate, Id take a mudcrab like that over a bag of fish any day of the year!!! Just the sight of it is making me excited in funny places.

Fresh seafood for lunch......life couldn't be better could it?? those moses sure do taste good but the muddy is almost heaven!!!

Nice report mate, pity you didn't catch many fish, but like you said, sometimes its just good to be out on the water!
