well i have just started another new project, as many of you know my last project was my camper trailer, this time it is a teardrop caravan for behind a harley.
the idea is that you tow the caravan behind your bike pull into a caravan park , park it, do what you want during the day , then at night have tea at the local pub etc and sleep in the caravan. basically this model is sleeping only! the caravan parks have the showers and tiolets! i am going to make another model for behind a car that will have a pull out kitchen!anyway here are some pics! i have not included all of them but have put a hand full of the build stage! i have not put any ones of the forming in my jig
Very nice Shano. Will follow this with interest.
Here is some interesting reading for you. It's the full story of Joanne building her own teardrop in the US. She's a very interesting lady.
Follow all the links for some very good stuff.

What would Steve do?

Seeing cool projects like this make me wish I'd learnt how to weld. Love your work Shano. I always dream about a you beaut boat trailer that incorporates a camper trailer, or a camper unit with legs for a ute - I know they are available on the market nowadays but I'm too cheap to pay what they're asking!
Never too old to learn new tricks I guess (steep learning curve possibly starts here!)
Wonder if I'll still be as keen when I sober up in the morning? hic (probably not I'm afraid - hardly enough time for fishing as it is!)
Cheers
Tony
Shano
Mate if it's for behind a harley those wheels wont do mate!!!! Think bling , bling and more bling!!!!
Ian
Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!
It's going to look pretty smart I'll have to admit
What are the dimensions of the little van??
What size bike are you thinking about towing it??
I built a little trailer (5x3') for my bike years ago to go traveling and camping.
It is a 2x1 RHS chassis with fully independent suspension with the 'box and lid' made from fiberglass.
I went to Darwin via Adelaide for one of the trips. 14,500km tripping around the place.
All the camping gear, food, water, petrol and spares in the trailer. Thermos and fruit cake in the panniers and off I went
Great trip!!
Only hassle was all the back tyres I went through
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good
Geez, so many clever fellas in this thread, nice work guys.
Who will be driving the ute to pick up the Harley when it breaks down though?
If men are from Mars, and women are from Venus, politicians must be from uranus ?
not me.......... that will be my mates dads problem lol
