    Belly72,
Haven't seen the paper yet, but a mate who works for DPI&F told me that this might happen. Best to ring or get onto DPI&F Website and check it out. But it was in the wind, also they were making considerations on moving the closures for 2009 to reflect Sep - Oct - Nov and leave December to the fisho's.....

Now I have to go and buy a paper!!!!

its all but scrapped. It just needs approval from the governor, but it has all the recommendations to be scraped from the DPI reps etc.

the only reason they are considering it is a purely commercial point of view, ie Tourism etc. They've ingnored the fisho's for the last 4 years, but as soon as the money train slows down, they backflip faster than you can say nevermetanhonestpollie

Now I really am confused. I thought that the reasons for the closures were that the fish congregate at this time of the year and moon phase for spawning .
Personally I'd rather see December than September. Usually blows its arse off around December.
If they are going to move it back a month I hope they tell the fish to start getting their jollies off a month earlier
