Help with Corio Bay Grunter
Am looking for some advise from the CQ locals on chasing Grunter in and around Corio Bay. I picked up a couple on the weekend on live mullet but it was more good luck then good managment. Got me inspired to go out and chase them though.
Best baits? some spots to try? etc.
Are the rock bars around the mouth the go?
Are there any good spots out from the mouth? I have heard people mention Corio Heads before. From my limited knowledge I think the bigger fish head out into the open water so maybe that could be worth a go on a good day.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Help with Corio Bay Grunter
i'm sure other people will provide some more detail than i can.
but.
2nd bay around apparently there is a hole. i think it's the jew hole.
up past corio heads is a few wrecks... The Rama. they usually catch the grunter around here. Also The Pinnicles is another spot they target them. not to mention the other fish that can be caught here.. Snapper, cobia, mackeral, cod, trout, red jew, just to name a few.
night time is the time to chase them.

Re: Help with Corio Bay Grunter
Thanks LG. I'd like to give the wrecks a go. Anyone know the GPS co-ords?
Weather might be shaping up this weekend. Might get a chance to get out the front and chase some.
If I do any good I'll let you know. If you don't hear from me don't ask.
Cheers
