iv been 8 times now an havnt been able to get a jack let alone a cod over 10cm. iv been fishing the pine throwing every lure i have at any object in the water with little results.iv only had 1 solid hit but didnt hook up. can any where please give me some tips on how to better my self at jack fishing. hiw to cast at a snag proply or lure retreves used for jacks. any tips will help. i plan on going again tomorrow an seeing what happens.

The Pine does have some jacks but not lots of jacks, so you are competing with lots of other fishos that are all teaching them about how dangerous lures are.
There are two large boulder walls in the pine rivers that would easily support several jacks each. One is in the South pine river about 500m from the junction and the other is in the North Pine River right up near Petrie on the banks of the APM grounds.
I have caught several jacks at both boulder walls over the years.
Read the "tips for jack virgins" thread started by Andrew a few weeks ago, it is full of how to go about catching one.
You will most likely not be getting too much reactions from the top two metres of the water column in the pine, there are just too many boats and too many lures being thrown around and the jacks will have learnt quite a lot by this stage of the season.
Try soft plastics down around the bottom of the walls, probably will be most productive for you.
