great report woody,
cressys a great spot ey,
any pics mate..?
HI everyone, Mate and I went out today after a bit of a wet start and I kid you not, had the best day ever. I lost count of how many under sized bass were caught, at least 50 with shrimp, the clincher was it didnt matter what lures we tossed at them they still hit em. New Jackell t/n 70 scull, no probs, evergreen little max {blade lure} smashed em. $4 suspending lure from a shop smashed em, and dont get me started on sp's. Have never caught anything on one, but today yippieeeee, what ever we tossed they ate. So all up I think there were 5 or so legal bass and 5 legal yellas, ow yer My first ever yella too, but he was caught on a shrimp. So yer ,best day for me by a long shot, eather that or i need to get out fishing more often. Cheers woody

good stuff, keen to get back up there at easter,,thanks for the report...did you get any on surface...they usually go off up there on surface lures.. cheers bdowdy..brett
Cheers for the replies fellas, took some picks on my crappy phone, just have to get a usb cable so I can download them onto here, surface action was very hit and miss, alot of smaller fish boiling and having a go but just not sticking as many as I would of liked, maybe down size the trebs next time me thinks. CHEERS woody
ok woody got a 45cm on surface last year at cressy walking the dog style fishing, great fish and great fun..brett
Sounds like a great day.
The in-laws live in Toowoomba and he doesn't mind a fish, but he prefers soaking baits at Cooby. I will be up there at Christmas so I might have to drag the Hornet up there and take him to Cressy with some gun lures.
Do you have any general tips for fishing there ie. lures to use, style of fishing, general locations, etc.?
Thanks
Marty
PS. any trouble launching a 435 Hornet there - I believe the water is below the concrete ramp?
Wel done Woody, you dont have too many of those days and when you do they are memerable for life. Pitty about the camera situation, would love to see photos.
I am taking the old man up there in a few weeks and we have never been there before, can someone out there shed some light on the place ie boat launching or a good place to start looking for a few fish. I understand that you all have your secret locations which I fully appreciate but any info wuld be highly regarded.
Well done again Woody.
Good report Woody. I'll have to get back up to Cressy, havn't fished it for a couple years. Where did you catch your shrimp?. Can you still buy live shrimp in Toowoomba.
Regards
Sav
heard that cressy recieved about 50mm of rain in the last few days ,,,that will help out a bit....its been awhile since rain like that up there...brett
had a very quick fish there sat 22/11 from 11 to 1230 (worst time) in strong winds.. three of us got a bass each in bulls creek casting to flooded edges, spinnerbaits, littlemax and beetlespins did the job.. considering the time and weather when we fished it, should fish ok early mornings/arvo.
cheers Luke
Will be visiting a mate near Esk this weekend and may drop by Cressbrook for a look see.
Cheers
