    How big was THAT marlin!?

    Hi! *waves*

Don't mind me, I probably wont be here often *hears a collective sigh of relief* but I'm just here to ask a few random questions and hopefully you guys can help me out!

Do we do the 'bit about me' thing here?

    Might as well!

I'm a 27yo mum, I'll be 28 on Sunday (happy birthday me) and this weekend I'm taking my soon-to-be 3 year old camping as a trial run for our week-long camping trip in January. He's been captivated by fishing... hook, line and sinker! (sorry, bad joke)

    Anyway... hi!

Hi. Thanks! I guess people here really do only talk about fishing, no one else has replied to my introduction thread.

I went fishing this weekend at Somerset Dam. Caught a fish "this big" *does the arms wide apart thing*. Actually, that's a lie, I didnt catch anything.

Caught two fish at Twin Bridges just past Fernvale the other weekend. Threw them back in.

You know, I'm happy catching catfish! At least I've caught something.

Or a boat! Thanks. I don't have a pic of me with a fish [yet, yet!] so it's my face until then.

Yeah, have to agree about the fish thingo but your just lucky there hasn't been a camera invented yet that'll take my mug. Then you'd have something to whinge about

Yeah, yeah welcome blah, blah and all that sort of stuff. (I've been known to be a bit forward occassionally for some reason?)

    Anyways I have a question.
Why are you named after a frog Pobbs??
I've been trying to remember where I've heard that name before and then it come to me like a sledge hammer...frog.

Yeah, I am a bit of a chatterbox. Comes with the territory I think of being a forum owner. I stand by the 'learned behaviour' theory!

Well... first of all, frogs are just too damn cute.

Got my username from Underwaterworld in Malooloolooloolooloobabababababa.

They have a 'wall of frogs' there, each frog called 'Green Tree Frog' or 'Brown with Yellow Spots on the Nose Frog' etc, except for the one in the middle, which was simply called 'Pobblebonk'. And when I first read the word 'Pobblebonk', I cracked up laughing. Look, I'm a mum, I had no life back then, simple things as they say.

My nickname on my other forum is Pobbs, but there's a hundred ways of amending it as I've found out, from Pobsy, to Pobblewobble, to Pobblebum, you name it.

And we love everyone one of em. Great to see a breath of fresh air here amongst all the rabid, obsessed, tunnell visioned enthusiasts(they cant help it...its an addiction yet to be medically recognised) and dare I say it for fear of being politically incorrect....a pretty face .

A Formal welcome to the site to you Pobbs. May your posts be many and your enjoyment of our sport fulfilling.
