    4-8 lbs Rod

Looking for options on a 4-8 lbs Rod
I have been using an Egrell S2 and am more than happy with it but sadly its now a 2 piece
The rod will be used to cast mainly light jig heads ( 1/16th ish ) and small H/B's.
2500 Daiwa and 2-8 lbs line
    Budget of $400 - $500
open to all ideas or should I just replace with another S2?

    Leighton,

If you liked the s2, get another

There are some dearer rods coming out of the US and Japan, but they have acompletely different feel, taper and action. The S2 has a definite lock up as do all erics s series rods in the egrell range, most others coming out for Jap and US are much more parabolic in their power curve shape.

In the 2-4kg I'm using the penn pro guide, its doing the job nicely, but I think they are out of circulation now and at $200ish they were good value, but as I said, the egrell is such a unique taper and engineered by Eric, there really is nothing to compare...

    Cheers

I agree with all of the above Leighton - get another S2. You cannot go wrong with an Egrell.........

how about an bear s1-7 if you only want up to 8lb.
I have one and cannot fault it, and it has caught some really good fish for such a light rod.
Keep smiling, It makes people wonder what you're up to.
