Re: paradise dam
From the Sweetwater web site: http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/Paradise.htm
The Burnett River was stocked both upstream and downstream prior to the construction of Paradise Dam.
These include Australian Bass, Barramundi, Golden Perch and Silver Perch.
There are breeding populations of Eel-Tailed Catfish, Fork-Tailed Catfish, Spangled Perch and the endangered Queensland Lungfish.
Since construction there have been no fish stock here however there are plans for a Fish Management Program.
It would be reasonable to expect that there are some fish to be caught in Paradise Dam at time of writting.
It's not surprising that you didn't catch anything other than catties and saw plenty of lungfish as any species like bass, barra & goldens would be few and far between. Can't see the situation improving until a stocking program is up and running.
Mind you, if the greenies have their way, the dam would be removed due to 'endangered Qld lungfish'. The fact that lungfish are thriving in places like North Pine Dam does not seem to register on their radar!!
