    Pine flatties and shark

    Hey Fellas
Went out in the pine today to get away for a bit as one of my good mates is in a bad condition in hospital so i went out with dad and another mate for a fish. Dad was told of a spot from a guy at work so we tryed there after about 10 mins jordan brings in a 45 cm flattie five mins later another. dad then brings in a nice little sol/flounder. i was having a flick with a bloodup prawnstar when i get a nice hit and in comes a 50 cm flattie. Pretty stoked first fish on my new rod and first fish on a plastic yeww haha. We moved a bit further up this inlet dad got a massive hit and after a five minut fight brings in a two and half foot shovlenose shark. got a coupple more fish so it was a awsome day
    total tally
    Me 2 Flatties
    Jordan 2 flatties
    Dad 1 Shovelnose
    2 flatties
    1 tiny bream
    1 sol/flounder
sorry about such long report just had an awsome day
    Cheers Dan

Nice work - looks calm where you were - windy up here at Bribie. All the best for your mate in hospital - Cheers, Darren.

Pretty good session mate, good way to christen the rod!

Just to let you know the shovelnose shark is a ray as they have gills on the underside and if you hold em buy the tail you will see why there called a "shovelnose ray" along with there nose being a shovel.

Do they have a barb on their tail?

while we are talking about it, do they rays in the pine and pumistone passgae harm you? I have never been game to get too near them, they have a terrifying looking tail

No Barb In The Shovellies, Mate. The Common Stingers You Get In The Pine Most Certainly Do, But If You Handle Them By The Spiracles, You Should Be Find When Releasing Them. Get Some Pretty Big Girls In There, Too.

    Nice Report Mate.
