    Toomulla Today

Put the boat in at saltwater creek at 7am and worked our way up the creek laying crab pots. Each crab pot ended up with at least 2 bucks but too small.

Fishing was very quiet with the mangrove Jack kindergarden the only fish about. Surprisingly never got eaten alive by sandflies.

A somewhat shallow creek with nice looking sandstone drop offs as good ambush territory. Just nothing substantial around. Might have to wait now to get my barra in Feb............

    hppy fishing.

The sand flies can be relentless around he Ross too. Even tho i was wearing jeans, closed shoes, long sleve shirt, they mangged target the back of my hands and my ankles.

    Hey Kev

Good to see you getting out and about. We must try and catch up sometime for a fish and a chat about Southern African politics Nah come to think of it there are certainly better things to chat about.

    Hi Ron,

Not very wide at all. Easily cast from one side to the other. We spent a lot of time searching for a bit of depth. On the high of 2.82m yestrday the best we got was 3 m deep For most of it the sounder was stuck between .8 and 1.8.

On the way back we had a look at Bluewater boat ramp to try that place next time. It looks deeper. have you ever tried bluewater.

    Hey Dave,

Pm me sometime when you are ready and I am sure we can go somewhere and kill some fish.

i dont think that bluewater creek has a boat ramp?
if you turned off just before bluewater on the highway? & went down to the boat ramp was there another ramp straight across the creek? if so it is althaus creek, there is 3 boat ramps there. 1 is were you would have been (bluewater) side, if you turn off at purono park there is a boat ramp, & another ramp at saunders beach. thats 3 boat ramps that go into the same creek.the bluewater 1 & the saunders beach ramps are across from each other & purono park ramp is a little bit further up the creek. check it out mate it's well worth fishing!
