Personally i like shimano's in the 5000 size whether it be Stradic, Twin power or Stella. Depends on your budget but i have found that the 5000 does balance that little bit better than the 4000.

Such a nice stick deserves a nice reel
A Daiwa Certate 3000-4000 size ....... or if you have more coin - one of the tricked up Certates ( Hyper) ........ Morethan Branzino

These reels are rugged , smooth , have sensational drags ......... will last you many years .........

    Cheers

    Naggs on the money.

I have matched up my S10H with a Certate 3500 Custom HD but also got a chance to fit a Morethan Branzino to it. Personally, I think the 3500 is better matched but gee that Branzino feels - very very nice.

Depending on where you fishing for your snaps too mate. I barely got 200mtrs of 30lb braid on my 3500 which is perfect for fishing offshore as you never know when a cobe, kingie or AJ is going to smash your plastic intended for a snapper.

I use an Advantage 4000 on my S10....seems to balance out the outfit beautifully.....very important if your casting for hours on end.....yet to christen it with a Barra or 6 and not Monduran Trout as has been the case
    Good Mates....Good Food.....Good Fishing....Priceless

The guys in the know use Daiwa 3500 HD's or Certate 4000's, but if your a Shimano fan, then the equivalent size is 5000 or 6000. The Daiwa and Shimano sizes are different.

    Hi Jarod,

I am using Certate 3500HD's on my S10's which is ideal for balance and line capacity in most applications. Just FYI, Eric Grell uses Certate Hyper Customs 3500's exclusively for the same reason. I got an extra spool when I ordered mine and run 20lb and 50lb braid respectively for Snapper and Barra.

If you are thinking of different brands or sizes, drop Eric an email via his web site, he's pretty reliable in terms of helping out to ensure you get the right balance in your outfit.

Interesting you said you got 200m of 30lb braid. I spooled my 3500HD last week & got 300m of 30lb braid & still needed backing.
