Ive just bought a furuno fcv 600 off a mate he replaced it soom time back. can anybody help the end of the power cable that goes to the battery has 1 black which i think is neg 1 white pos but also has coax tipe wrapping both. ive hooked black and white up turned it on seemed to work. not in boat yet just woundering whats the wrapping wire for i dont want to blow it up. theres also an inline fuse on the cable . any info would be great thanks. might be a good idea to go to furuno website (us) download the manual in pdf form and check out the wiring diagram that Furuno usually have in the back of them..?
wire shielding is there to help stop interferiance (sp)... no real need to connect it...I just sold my FCV 600L and it worked well wit out it connected... and my GP1650 works with out it too...
