    2006/7 Holden Rodeo

Anyone been or have a 3lt TD 4x4 crew cab LX? I'm looking at getting one in the near future.

I think the 07 has a more powerful TD engine - so I'm leaning towards that year.

Any info good/bad would be great.

My dad had a single cab 4x4 as a work vehicle. once you got the turbo going it was quite punchy. It towed his 1.3t van like it wasnt even there. It only had one problem when my brother was driving it up to Double Island fully loaded doing 120 the check engine light come on for a few ks. Holden done something to it under warranty and it never done it again.

He now has a v6 petrol and it has nothing on the TD

    G'day,

I bought a 2007 LT crew cab diesel auto at the beginning of September. It was 14 months old and had done just 16,000KM. The newer engine is all new and badged 3.0VCDI. It was released mid-2007. It is quieter and smoother than the earlier motor.

Power and torque is good (it can get away from you if you're not careful) and fuel economy so far is 9.5lt/100km in city traffic. Engine braking is poor with the automatic and the brake pedal has a bit of travel before you get real bite.

    Things to check for.

    1. They must be serviced per the book. All new diesels need good quality oil at their change intervals.

    2. There has been one recall so far, for brakes and one "service action" for the diesel fuel injection. Make sure these are done and if you're not sure take it to a Holden dealer quickly.

    3. If you are buying new and fitting a tonneau the genuine Holden kit will provide aluminium rivets to secure the lashing lugs and the dealers never put a seal between the steel body and the aluminium rivets. That's dumb! You will see corrosion after just a few months. Make them do it properly.

    Hope this helps.
