Hi Benno1,
This idea of an area for the the girls to feel free to speak up is great, has to start like all good things...small...and I'm sure it will grow, you will be supported, I know the other half thinks it's a good thing. Sheridan and I both have Aushfish shirts, we really believe that this can only assist in meeting like minded people who have a simular interest. I do hope that you get to do a bit of barra fishing, sounds like a lot of fun. At present, we're in the middle of moving north to Cairns, (packing...blahh ) I'm sure I will get a turn at fishing for the barra, and keeping out of the croc's way , not real sure about those big unfriendly lizards, they don't do much for me. We are here for about another 6 weeks and then we'll be off. I know we will be doing a day trip out before we leave Brissie and do a spot of fishing, can't wait .

Hi Mrs Benno,

Sorry to hear you missed the Lady Fisher's Comp. Our team entered again for the second year and must say Bev does her absolute hardest to run a great comp. Unfortunately not many barra were caught over the weekend.

Friday 1 barra was caught and on Saturday only 5. It was a dead heat between my team, Lively Ladies and another, Daze Off. Both caught 3 barra but we were lucky enough to win by 4cm (10 points). (Sorry Kim)

The women who entered are faithful supporters of the women's barra comps in Gladstone and they all busted their britches to catch those elusive barra. It was a fun weekend and you should keep your eye out on the Lady Fishers' website for the next comp. Word of mouth it is mid November, but we are yet to get confirmation of this. Keep checking the website and you'll see some great photos of the fun that we all had during the comp.

Maybe we will see you next year.

Thanks for that Jodie...im glad all involved had a good time...even if the barra didnt read the play book ...ive got the Lady Fishers website set as one of my favorites... i go there after i fininsh lurking around in here ...ive just bought myself a new set of soft body lures and a cute little purple hard body number...im keen as mustard to go try them all out...just waiting for this damn flu to get out of my system
