Hey All,
Early this morning I put in at Morrisseys to crab the incoming tide. I was on my own in my tinny (HelBenT) and my cousin and her husband were in their tinny. I used fish frames for bait that I picked up from Lounds Seafoods and the other boat used Roo bones. So for my four pots I had one mackerel head, one trevally head and the other two pots had frames that I think were sweep. Should mention too that all pots were dillies. Both boats caught heaps of crabs but I only got the one keeper for the day while my cousins caught four. I did notice that as the day went on the roo bones seemed to be attracting more crabs than the fish heads. I mention that because there was a recent thread here about the best baits to use. Anyway, the lone crab I brought home was 17cm across and that real rusty colour. He was packed full of meat too. So it was a nice entree to the roast pork!!
Not the best result for the day but it beats teaching maths.
Cheers, Ben.
